The Turabian style is mostly known as the University of Chicago manual of style. This style is somewhat similar to MLA format but how to do a research paper in Turabian has a lot of footnotes and endnotes. There are 3 sections which are introduction, body and conclusion. Footnotes are mostly indicated by a number which is superscripted that has a detail entry in the bibliography section. The whole document should have double spaced and the common font size is twelve with the typical font being Times New Roman.
The first paragraph will be the introduction. This paragraph gives the view of the paper that the reader is going to read further. The introduction actually takes up twenty five percent of the paper so you can understand that how important the introduction is. State as many points you want to but focus on one point that it strong and related to your topic. Furthermore, in how to do a research paper in Turabian, the body paragraph will have the points that you want to talk about.
Before starting to write the body paragraph, organize your points. When the points are organized, it becomes easy for the writer to connect each point with the other while writing it in a paragraph. If possible, start a new paragraph for each new point but make sure to connect the previous point with the new point. Never leave a point dangling, give it a complete end. The conclusion paragraph will have a theory of your own and present it in a way that once the reader finished reading it, he/she is satisfied with the result.
Now comes the most important part of how to do a research paper in Turabian, the bibliography. The bibliography format uses N and B where N stands for note format and B stands for bibliography format. Your professor will let you know that in what format he wants the sources. The N format is used when the professor wants the author’s first name followed by middle and last name. Then the title of the source, if location, publisher and year are available, that is an added point, with pages being last. The B format is used when the professor wants the last name of the author first followed by middle and first name, then the title, location, publisher and year.
