MLA stands for Modern Language Association which is a widely used format for writing research paper in colleges and universities. Students often wonder how to do a quick essay in MLA format and this article will guide you through the process of writing a quick essay. First thing that the student should make sure of is to change the font to Times New Roman with the size being 12. This should be your default font whenever you write an essay in MLA format.

Next thing is to make sure that the margin of the paper is set to one inch from all side. When you begin to do the indent part, keep in mind that you use the tab key instead of using the space bar. Before starting the work, also make sure that the whole paper has double spacing.

While starting to write an essay, if you have a title then italicize them for emphasis. If your professor hasn’t asked for the title, then do not write it. On the first page, write your surname and page number on the upper right corner of the page.
